Herb Bennet, sometimes called Wood Avens, is a common plant in deciduous woodland. The flower heads are small (about 10cms) and comprise five yellow petals and five green sepals. They grow on long, hairy stalks. The flowers are followed by hooked seeds which can catch on the fur of passing animals. It is used in herbal medicine for digestive disorders and also in mouth washes. |
